I began selling my jewelry pieces in 2003. I started stringing beads with my sister to fuel my love for unique and fun jewelry. I then devoted a year working with a fused glass artist in her fused glass studio. We made everything from jewelry to fused glass cabinet inserts, lamps and clocks. But my love for jewelry resurfaced and I found myself purchasing a small kiln to create fused glass jewelry pieces in my own studio. Most recently I trained in the art of metalsmithing at the DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA and MetalWerx in Waltham, MA.
I find metal and fused glass to be a unique and fun medium for jewelry. I constantly find myself exploring new materials to enrich and enhance my jewelry. Working with metal and fused glass allows me to mix the vibrant colors of the fused glass with the flexible and dynamic properties of silver and copper. Much of my inspiration comes from nature, I love to incorporate organic items and ideas into my jewelry. I also enjoy a technique called "fold forming" which gives the metal a more natural, and 3D appearance.
I look forward to creating with you.
